Villa Cleaning Checklist for Bali Hosts — Room by Room
Every villa cleaner in Bali works from a list in their head. Hosts who get five-star cleanliness reviews work from a list on paper. Here is the room-by-room checklist our teams use for turnovers, adapted for owners who manage their own staff.
Bedrooms
Strip and remake beds with ironed linen; check under the mattress protector for sand and damp.
Wipe fan blades, air-conditioner grilles and the top of wardrobes — tropical dust settles high.
Empty and wipe drawers and safes; leave the safe open with the code card visible.
Check mosquito nets and window screens for tears.
Bathrooms
Descale taps, shower glass and the shower head — Bali's hard water leaves white film within days.
Scrub grout lines; mildew starts in the corners of open-air showers.
Replace amenities, fold towels, check the drain runs freely.
Kitchen
Empty the fridge of anything opened; wipe seals and shelves.
Degrease the hob and extractor filter; ants find a single sugar spill overnight.
Run the dishwasher empty with a descaler monthly.
Pool and terrace
Skim the pool, brush the waterline, check the pump runs and the water is clear.
Hose the terrace, wipe loungers and cushions, shake out rugs.
Sweep leaves from drains — one blocked drain floods a terrace in a single storm.
Before handover
Walk every room with the lights on and the AC set to 24°C.
Photograph each room and send the set to the host on WhatsApp.
Note anything broken or missing so it is not blamed on the next guest.
